Nature is Natural

ShantiMayi with Arundatti

Q: Last night my Master came in a dream to ask me to be genuine. She showed me different animals in the moment, living in instinct, without thinking mind and in the present.  I try to live like that but I am afraid to be sort of murdered by the others.

J: We are one, there are no ‘others’, and you cannot be killed. You have to see this. Die for it. What are you saving? When She says: "look at the animals", it is so beautiful, because animals live completely natural. Your Master says ‘instinct’, living natural, isn't it? But still the lion eats the antelope! So what have you got to lose and what are you?

Q: It is my ego that is afraid to lose.

J: You know what? You start looking at who are you on this very food level. The Upanishads, one of the highest and earliest scriptures, in the first sentence says: "food rests upon food". What does that mean? How can we come to see this? Start looking: when you have a piece of cheese, when do we call it ‘cheese’? When is it milk? Then you go back in the chain. So this cheese, look at this cheese: is it really cheese? When is the word there: ‘cheese’? Cheese is only a word. But then there was milk, only a word: ‘milk’. When was there milk? When it was grass? Eaten by the cow? Or the rain, or the earth, or the dead leaves in the earth, fallen from the tree? What defines the cheese? Be consequent, if you want to hold on and don't want to die, don't eat anything! It is going on and on and on in an endless, ever-changing cycle of birth of death, coming and going... You are a lot older than when you came in. You are dying every single moment, absolutely. So this is nature, instinct, because you have no choice. You have no choice whatsoever. When you are thirsty, whatever you do, you will find water! Now you look so civilized, and when you drink water - you got to pee! You cannot say: "I don't want to pee", well then urine is coming anyhow! So this instinct, this natural thing is already going on. Control is but an idea that is lingering in the mind, and from this comes the suffering and the fear. I can see you are living very inhibited. Is it so? Spiritual aspirants - so to speak - are warriors and their devils. Give up your so-called civilization! Be spontaneous!

Q: That is also what She told me.

J: There is only One Master and Master is the unchanging essence in all. You are aloud to make mistakes. You don't have to make everything perfect, because you are already perfect as you are. With all of your mistakes, you are still perfect. The essence of what you are and all is, is perfect and empty, and from perfection, you can only take perfection. However it appears, it is also perfect.

Om Purnamadah Purnamidam

Purnath Purnamudachyate

Purnasya Purnamadaya

Purnamevava shishyate

This is perfect, that is perfect.

From the perfect springs the perfect.

Take the perfect from the perfect

And only the perfect remains.

Start living life like a painter who just paints from the heart and then says: "Oh look, what is coming here?" Because consciousness is painting! You can bring this expression into so-called society by just doing your daily things without complaint, judgment and expectation. Know that all is already perfect as it is, undivided in essence and there is no status in it whatever, no more or less: it is just a quality of living and a great joy.
