Unconcerned Healing

Satsang 2001-7-6

Student: Today I feel really depressed because I got the message that my mother is very sick on her holiday in Spain and in the hospital.

Jivanjili: Just be still for a while. Put a smile on…a slight smile and there is already radiance. Wouldn’t it be wonderful when you are in a difficult situation and someone sends so much light, so that you can feel this energy filling up your body, either to let go of the body or to recover? The body seems to be a restricted area. You know when our Master comes, all the Shakti dawns upon us … in the night…. when we get dharsan…in the daytime…any time. You give your Mum dharsan; we will all do it tonight. This is how you can help her. To grieve and worry does not help her at all. You sit only in Grace. You sit straight and relaxed so you can breathe deeply and freely. All is well.

20 minutes of silent meditation.

Anything that you are carrying, that is not useful in a satsang, in the temple, leave it. It is best when you enter a temple uncovered, completely open, without any idea without any expectation, without any past, neither to improve here, nor to get something out of it. Because you are all completely equipped already, nothing is missing. You can get nothing from the outside. Your teacher cannot give you anything. The Master cannot give you anything that does not already belong to you.

Did you know that? Not really huh, no. This you get to see at the feet of your Teacher, your Master. You need a spiritual guide, a teacher, because we do not know, we are not aware of it, most of us. So we are grasping and seeking in the outside world, which is not – it is non-existent. Neither is there an inside world. This is a good pointer to start with, to turn the flow of error towards Truth, towards revealing Truth. Nothing is wrong here. It is quite fine. Thank you for caring for your mother. So this is what your teacher, your Master is for. Truth is true in any Master. You are the Master. You cannot exclude ‘the Master’. The Master is a principle; the essence is permeated in all things, however it might look like: ignorance, the dark nights, the devastating situations like you experience with your pain about your Mum today who is not well, who appears to be really sick suddenly. She went on holiday, isn’t it? You see anything can happen in consciousness any moment. There is no guarantee.

To be all shocked and disappointed, to be all sad and powerless, is it helpful? Does your mother get better from it?

Student: No.

Jivanjili: No. Why are you weeping? Investigate it. Is it because of your Mum or because of you?

You have to be in some kind of a let go to come with me now. When there is all this agitation you cannot help your mother. When you are honest – this is very straight, I know I can be straight with you – are you really suffering because of her or because of you?

Student: No, it is not really about her. It is about…I feel it has something to do with myself.

Jivanjili: Yes.

Student: It has to do with surrendering. I have to surrender to what is happening and that I cannot do anything.

Jivanjili: Do you have to surrender to what is happening, or is it happening anyhow?

Student: It is happening anyhow.

Jivanjili: So, what do you have to surrender? Look at me please and breathe in. Now we really go a little bit into it, because here we already have something profoundly erroneous. O.K.? I understand what you are saying and I appreciate what you are saying and I recognize what you are saying. But you can dwell in this space a long time. “Shall I surrender to it or shall I not surrender to it?” While it is all going as it goes anyhow. So all this energy that is lost in that, all this attention that it takes to occupy with these considerations, is this widening your view or does it feel like control? Because otherwise you are also just going as it goes; you just drink your tea…. and then you think: oh, I don’t love my Mum.

It is so easy to be in the teaching and to be open and we feel so GOOD and we are singing bhajans and mantras and we are with our Master, our Guru…especially when we are in some remote country spending some interesting saved-up money. I know how it feels just to order in a restaurant. And then we think: O, God, I am so spiritual, I am expanding. I am extremely relaxed and peaceful, now I know what it is: Shanti, shanti, shanti, yes I understand! We all bow down for the Master, go to satsang, have this little protocol around it; candlelight, incense, Arati…we even want the WHOLE universe to wake up! We are UPLIFTING consciousness! The army of salvation!

And then….our mother goes on holiday and after three days we get a phone call: “She is in the hospital”. And where is the wisdom, where is peace? It seems like it is all disturbed. We are resentful.

So you are thinking of yes or no surrendering to it, isn’t it?

Student: I feel I am so attached to her physical presence.

Jivanjili: What did you do when she was well and near? When did you get to visit her? What did you do before? Sit on her lap? What do you mean by that?

Student: Uhhhh

Jivanjili: Really investigate, because this is the time you can use to see what is the effect on you and where you leave the temple of your heart - you cannot really leave the temple because you are the temple, you are all things. So when it feels that you leave this temple, you cannot leave the temple.

To stick out your neck and bring your subject forward, you serve us all. Thank you very much. Thank your Mum. I really like to know what you mean when you say: “Our bodies are so attached”.

Student: I feel I don’t go there often. I feel a strong connection though with her.

Jivanjili: Do you come often here?

Student: No.

Jivanjili: Do you feel a strong connection to Jivanjili?

Student: Yes.

Jivanjili: Does it depend on coming or going?

Student: No, that doesn’t depend on that.

Jivanjili: OK. What is this feeling? Why is it a problem?

Student: I have the feeling that I want to be with her now.

Jivanjili: You can be with her right now. You can sit next to her bed right now!

Student: You can be with me so clearly everywhere…so present…and then it feels so simple and normal.

Jivanjili: Yes, this normalcy is so simple and occurs instantly from an open heart, from an un-bothered heart. It is radiant by nature already. Just breathe, put a smile on your face and imagine sitting next to your mother’s bed. This you can do when you cannot visit her physically now.

Let us sit in silence without any condition or complaint on life’s occurrences…just breathe and smile unconcerned of the outcome. The impersonal healing power will radiate all by itself and is omnipresent, far and near at same time.

30 minutes of silent meditation follow.

Namasté.
